About Lidgett Music

Lidgett Music is located in the historic 100 block of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Founded in 1988 with a small inventory, after years of dedication and hard work, this business has grown to be one of under thirty Showcase Fender® Guitar Dealers nationwide. This allows us to carry Master Built and Team Built Custom Shop Fender® Guitars. Since guitars at this level are so rare and sought after they often end up in collections, as well as on national stages. One example is the Monterey Pop Stratocaster that ended up in the hands of singer songwriter John Mayer. Lidgett Music has also been fortunate enough to become a Collings Guitar Dealer. This dealership took over 10 years to acquire, and is now one of less than 100 dealers worldwide. Collings acoustic Guitars, hand built in Austin, Texas are thought by many to be the finest, most consistently built anywhere today. Collings only builds 1,100 guitars and 500 mandolins per year. Starting at $3,000 they are not for everyone. Even though we carry many high end guitars, much of their inventory is for beginner and intermediate players. The quality of guitars as a whole has improved over the past decade. This has made it possible to purchase a well made instrument without spending a fortune.
