About the Store
Lidgett Music was established in 1988, and since then, it has dutifully catered to the residents of Southwest Iowa and Southeastern Nebraska for more than three decades.
Unfortunately in 2020 we lost Sean Lidgett, our esteemed founder and namesake. Rob Schlautman, who had dedicatedly served under Sean for twenty years, took over the reins of ownership. Rob is dedicated to providing excellent customer service and helping our customers with anything they need. He is determined to continue the great reputation that our store has built.
Rob Schlautman
Owner
Operator of Lidgett Music for 20+ years, and owner for 4 years, Rob has contributed greatly to the success of the shop. Though guitars are Rob’s passion, he truly prides himself on being a girl dad to his curly headed kiddos.

Collings 290 in Doghair. With an absolute love of P90’s and the fact is was a wedding gift from my wife how could I say anything else.
-
1966 Fender Bandmaster with 2x12” Cab. My first real vintage Fender and such a great amp when paired with a Fender Reverb Unit.
-
After all of these years and memories it is hard to pick a favorite. What an amazing life to spend so much time with so many great people I have met over the years.

Silly Goose
Most people joke with us about working to pay off gear, but that’s actually how I got my start with Rob back in the fall of 2019. Even after working at the shop full-time for 3 years, it’s still my favorite—the location, the building, the crazy gear we get in, Rob’s personality—all add to the character of the shop.

Easily would have to be my Bruce Letter Series ‘T’-Style. Lollar Charlie Christian in the neck and Goldfoil in the bridge. The guitar challenges me to break out of my comfort zone.
-
Roland JC-120. Ungodly heavy, but totally worth it.
-
Not one time in particular, but every time Rob cracks open a Red Bull, he screams “IT GIVES YOU WINGS!!”
Clementine
Shop Pup
One year old lab/hound with an eye for style and ears for tone. Favorite band would have to be Creed, just their early stuff. Nothing beats clocking out and going for a ride with some tunes cranked.
-
Might have to be my ‘59 Les Paul. Found it at a pawn shop for $250 back in '95!
-
My player grade, estate sale find '59 Tweed Bassman. Doesn't get much better than that to my ears.

One time Rob gave me some of his lunch. That was a pretty great moment.
